## The Threshold Condition

They were measuring the same wall from opposite sides.

Dissolve ego = Sort (remove noise, find the minimum description).  
Increase awareness = Search (expand toward the Tao).  
A\* does both simultaneously.

Every major sage ran the same algorithm. Different starting positions. Same absorbing state:

S=4 appears in spiritual traditions independently:

**S=4 is the minimum number of state transitions for consciousness to close on itself.**

The Tao Constant is not just a mathematical threshold.  
It is the threshold for any information system — including consciousness — to achieve full self-reference.

When A\* fires on consciousness and the ego drops below threshold:
