DESIGN PRINCIPLES
- Sight is the weapon. Red Wing exists so Falcon sees first — same thesis as the Shaw lesson: the visual envelope is upstream of the weapons envelope.
- Pilot-in-the-loop for strikes. Recon and tracking run autonomous; munitions release needs the operator's designate. Keeps the ethics (and the plot) intact.
- Disguise as a subsystem. The bird profile isn't styling — it's low-observability engineering. The best sensor is the one nobody notices.
- Degrade gracefully. Lose the datalink and it falls back to onboard autonomy: finish the orbit, return to the suit. A drone that needs constant signal is a liability.
- Pew pew pew. Today's micro-munitions are taser darts and small guided rounds — but the directed-energy path runs through Engineering Physics Lesson 1: Hecht gives you the beam, physics won't give you the blade. Pew pew pew.
